Another nice feature of the Aspen community is that in nearly every instance when there is a conflict between a tree and a sidewalk, the tree wins. We love that outcome, but it does make for some interesting walks. It is quite common to come to a dead-ended sidewalk in the middle of a block and have to walk out in the street to the end of the block.
