Maroon Bells

Today I navigated the bus system up to Maroon Lake.  There is a visitors' center there and an array of easy hikes.  I didn't do much other than gather information.  Next chance we have I hope to take the family up there for a hike and picnic.

The mountains in the background are the "bells", so called because of the shape.  These peaks are part of the Elk Mountains, the westernmost range withing the Rockies.  The term "maroon" refers to the geologic "maroon formation".  More info can be found here.  Corrections and additions are welcome.
